Background
I got my car back in 1998. I went to a dealer to look for
a Honda Civic (they were popular back then). As I was looking
around I saw this beautiful white car. I didn’t even
know what it was "Supra" …………..
It
had only 78K miles on it and the dealer wanted $11k for
it. I didn’t really care how much it was I just wanted
it. I guess it was love at first sight. I got the car that
day, and that’s how it all began.
Turbo
SP61GT 61 a/r
Bottom
End
Stock rods and pistons, with HKS 1.2 Metal head gasket and
ARP bolts.
Head
Stock
Intake
I have a KN&N FIPK, with Greddy Type S BOV, MAXX FMIC,
MAXX Hard Pipes
Exhaust
Currently I am using stock manifold, with a high flow SS
3" Elbow, a RT 3" Downpipe eliminating cat, and
a 3" Blitz Nur Spec Exhaust.
Fuel
Walbro fuel pump, RC 550's injectors and Aeromotive FPR
Drivetrain
Curently I am using RPS Stage 1 Clutch, which is not holding
too well. I also have cut the stock shifter, it looks better,
and also quicker shifting.
Suspension
I have an eBay strut bar. Stock suspension for now, it feels
very bad in turns.
Brakes
Stock
Electronics
Controlling that big Boost with a Turbo XS Dual stage boost
controller, and air/fuel with a SAFCII, and a Greddy Turbo
Timer.
Interior
Rebuilt Stock seats, with two tone color, Maroon, with a
black stripe in the center.
Exterior
Custom Pearl White paint job, with MAXX front Bumper, Bomex
Side Skirts, molded Nissan 280 hood scoop, 17" MKIV
Wheels, Kumho Supra Tires, 245/45/17 Front, 275/40/17 Rear.
Writeup
The engine had been changed 2 times. First time was when
i got a BHG, and the mechanic said i had to change the engine.
Second time is when i got a Rod Knock, and a BHG. Then i
finally found out that they make metal head gaskets for
our cars.
After doing the
MHG, i started slowly building the power. from a Pep boys
air filter, to a Greddy FIPK, and from a home made crush
bent exhaust, to a Blitz Nur Spec. One suggestion for all
you supra lovers planning on building your car to the max,
dont rush, have a plan on what are most important parts
you need to get to support your goals. If your goal is 400RWHP,
believe me when you get there you will want more. One more
thing to remember Boost Is Your Friend, but be careful with
it.
Future
plans
In a short time i am planning on getting Ross Pistons, RPS
Stage 3 Clutch, Polishing the intake manifold, exhaust manifold,
turbo housing, valve covers, and upper IC Pipes, just so
my engine bay looks cleaner.
