Writeup
When I first got my automatic MK3 it was bone stock except for the wheels and radio. I loved this car from the moment I saw it. As the day’s progressed, she was getting sloppy and running like crap. I later discovered it was a BHG, I took it to my mechanic for a rebuild, cost me like a little over $3k with HKS 1.2mm MHG and ARP’s. I drove her for about 1200 miles for the break-in period. I later got bored and decided to add a few gauges, HKS EVC II, HKS SSBOV, Apex-i GT Spec, RT DP, RT 3” CAT, Inner Cooler hard pipes, Spearco FMIC, some suspension parts and a set of MKIV wheels. I boosted 15psi for less than 5 seconds on the stock turbo and it blew.

I later picked up a very low mileage JDM stock CT26 for $200 from the CT Crew. As soon as I installed this JDM turbo I boosted at 15psi, man, this car felt like a whole new beast. I was amazed how much of a difference it was. Days and months would go by and for some reason, this car was feeling slower and slower. I was addicted to boost, so I sent in my old CT26 to Majestic Turbo for a 60-1 upgrade and clipped 12 degree’s, I also converted it to a 5spd. I went to dyno her at SPI at 18psi, it made 331rwhp. The 3” RT Cat and stock elbow was restricting my power badly. I didn’t even bother change it, 3” turbo elbows weren’t available back in the days, so I just left it as it was.

One night, I was on the NJ Turnpike boosting at 18psi doing around 110mph, all I heard was “pop” sound. It scared me shitless, I pulled over to see if I blew out an IC pipe. Turns out I there was oil all over the BOV and passenger side wall, the car was also misfiring. I said, oh well, I drove it all the way home. The following week, I took it to SPI only to discover I melted piston #5. I then decided go to for a serious engine rebuild (goodies mentioned above).

A few thousand dollars later, the rebuild was complete; I had to break her in again (break-in’s suck). I took it up to about 1100 miles until I boosted again, man this car felt so slow. I didn’t even try to tune it with the small upgraded CT26, it would’ve been a waste of time and money. I decided to go the SP route, they had a full kit for $4500 and choice of many different turbo sizes. I’m thinking to myself, I have a bomb proof engine, why not add a bigger turbo? I chose the SP63 .70 A/R because I wanted around 550rwhp at high boost, no more (well maybe more), no less.

The Northeast 2003 Supra Meet was coming up pretty damn fast and the car was still not completed as of yet. I dressed up the engine as much as I could before the big show. The car also had a few electronic’s to wire up until it was complete. I was rushing to get it done. The Meet finally came, the Supra guys were all stock piling the parking lot at SPI. The dyno competition has already began, the MK3’s and MK4’s were stepping up to the plate. My car was down and out looking pretty in the corner. It sucked to be at a Supra Meet and car wasn’t running 100%. I didn’t give up, I finally got to dyno until after 1am that night. All I had to do was beat 390rwhp in the MK3 class. I made 476rwhp on the first couple of runs at 20psi. Howard Hutchinson nominated me as 1st Place winner in the MK3 dyno competition at SPI.

A few weeks later, I return to SPI to try to break the 500rwhp mark. I could not due to misfiring issues. A few thousand dollars later after replacing coils, getting some Magnacore Wires and Greddy Injectors the car felt stronger than ever. I returned to the dyno with C16 racing fuel and some witnesses. I finally cracked the 500rwhp mark at 25psi making 524rwhp 493.5rwtq SAE. After unveiling my car and new found power to 7MPower.com I decided to focus on the body and looks.

Later in the year 2004 I added some goodies to the car, Volk wheels, BBK, Rear Hatch Bar, Sparco Seats and Steering wheel including a few Bomex, Kaminari parts and a new paint job. When everything was done, she looked incredible. Sooner or later she’ll be unveiled to the US and Canada, publicly.

Future plans
It never stops!
