Background
got my 1991 turbo 5 spd after my 1987 turbo was hit in an
accident. The 87 was mildly modded but I always new that
the car and all its "stock:" parts could be so
much more. When I got the 91, it had excessive blow-by and
needed a clutch, so I decided to rebuild it and do some
of the mods I had always wanted to do to the 87. I rebuilt
the bottom end with all stock parts except JE pistons and
a thorough balancing along with an RPS stage 3 clutch. I
also had the stock injectors cleaned by fuel injector clinic
and had the stock CT-26 upgraded with the popular "t04e
60 trim" compressor. That with an HKS metal head gasket
and ARPs all around made the car ready for some decent HP.

Writeup
I put my motor together and ran it for the first time after
the rebuild at 6 psi on the new upgraded CT. After about
200 miles on the clutch break in, I took it to the local
street races and the first car I ran was a Ram Air Firebird.
First and second was a little close, but third gear walked
him pretty bad and that was only at 10 psi. Within a few
days I was running 18 psi on the new motor. Needless to
say, it was broke in doing what it was built for, street
racing! The car really has no lag to speak of. >From
a stop, with a couple of revs it will easily burn off my
ET Streets (26x11.50x16s) unless they're good and hot. On
the street, it has only been beaten by a few cars, which
have been drag only cars, the latest of which ran a 10.56
in the quarter. I don't know what mine will run, hopefully
11s, but will find out one of these days. My latest attempts
have been four hours of driving only to get turned away
at the gates due to rain. My real thrill is street racing
anyway!
Future plans
I may go to a larger turbo one day, but I'm pretty satisfied
with the car like it is. It would be really difficult to
get a big turbo as streetable as the car is now, so I'll
probably just leave it alone. I just wanted to see what
pretty much stock stuff would do anyway.
